PRESIDENT - Jean Trammell, President, The Venice Company
Ms. Trammell previously served on VABI's board for a number of years in the organization's early evolution. After taking a break, she's back lending her expertise and energy to VABI. She also sits on the boards of The Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice, The Venice Little Theatre, and the City of Venice Historic Preservation. She also finds time to serve as VP of the Sarasota County Arts Council, President of Venice Main Street, and a multitude of other local interests.
 

 

  PAST-PRESIDENT  - Don Hay - Smith Barney
Mr. Hay has been a Financial Advisor in the Venice area since 1981, joining Smith Barney in 2001. He currently sits on the Board of The Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice, is Past President of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of the "Leadership Sarasota Class of "98". Don serves as an advisor to the School Board of Sarasota County and is an active participant in the Junior Achievement Program. With a background as a Dale Carnegie Instructor, he is recognized as a local Public Speaker and Master of Ceremonies.

VICE PRESIDENT - Ernie Skinner, Retired
Mr. Skinner is a Past Commodore of the Venice Yacht Club and sits on the boards of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce, the Venice Art Center, and is Chairman of the Finance and Investment Committee for the Catholic Diocese of Venice. Additionally, he is an active member of the Sertoma Club of Venice.

  
 
  TREASURER- Nicole Schubiger, Riverside Bank
Ms. Schubiger in August marks her six year anniversary w/ Riverside Bank~ and twelve years of banking experience.  She's been involved with the Venice WCR, Laurel Civic Association, American Cancer Society, Chamber of Commerce, and several elementary, middle and high school activities.   Her free time is spent with her husband, dog, parents and in-laws camping, traveling, going out to dinner and just spending time together.

Peggy Davidson, Consultant
Ms. Davidson is involved in the community through our organization and as a board member of Junior Achievement, Associate Member, and committees participant for the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Sertoma Club of Venice and a graduate of Leadership Sarasota County, Class of 2001.

 

Russell Johnson, Retired
Mr. Johnson during his working career spent time in both the Chicago area and Harrisonburg, VA. He's a graduate of Duke University and served in the Marine Corps Reserve. Russ' volunteer efforts include our Board, the Pepper Patrol, Friends of Carlton Reserve and the Lemon Bay Playhouse. Most recently he's tackling the task of building a house here in Venice.

 
 

  Terry Redman
Mr. Redman represents the University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service Master Gardener and National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward programs. He is past Chairman of the Sarasota County Parks and Recreation Advisory Council and is presently the Treasurer of the Friends of Sarasota County Parks, Inc. Having served many years on the VABI board, Terry's influence on the development of the Venetian Waterway Park is immeasurable.  

Greg Vine, Sunacre Corp.
Mr. Vine has been a private real estate investor in Venice for over twenty years. He also has been very active in the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce and was General Chairman of the 20/20 Visions of Venice that was the early seed of Venice Area Beautification, Inc.  He is a member of Toastmasters and is an award-winning speaker. He has been involved in the concepts of sustainable and environmentally friendly development options. 

 
 

Jason Weaver, Acct. Ex., Comcast Spotlight
Mr. Weaver is our newest addition to the VABI Board and is Past President of the newly formed Venice Area Young Professionals group.
