HONORING OUR HEROES

Freedom Walk was originally created by the 2002 Class of Leadership Sarasota County. The memorial, with stations, pillars and brick pavers, was inspired by the events of the September 11, 2001 tragedy.

Freedom Walk is now a part of the Venice Area Beautification, Inc. organization which maintains the facility and assists in other community projects.

"You cannot stand at this site without being completely enthralled with what has been created.  The overall impact is truly moving."
City of Venice Mayor Dean Calamaras

Freedom Walk at Patriots Park is located in Venice on the Northeast corner where Business 41 and Bypass 41 come together. Patriots Park is part of the Sarasota County Parks system.

YOUR COMMITTMENT BECOMES PART OF HISTORY

There are several opportunities for those wishing to contribute to memorialize all those who have exhibited heroism and leadership in preserving our freedom. You may choose from the following options:

Freedom Founder ( $15,000) - Your support will provide the foundation for the memorial, with recognition at the entrance to the Freedom Walk.

Freedom Pillar ($5,000) - Sponsor one of the five pillars located at the points of the star (see design of walkway). Each has a plaque with a freedom quote. Your name is engraved on a plate.

Freedom Star ($1,000) - The stars that form the circle within the walkway represent the freedom in unity with all of the 50 United States.

Freedom Paver ($100) - The memorial foundation will feature engraved bricks to live on in history as others remember the dedication of our Heroes.
